This is a great take on the traditional fishbowl designed by Aruliden for Gaia and Gino. I love the simplicity of this design, using the negative space to form the mountain range.

The usage of just one material has given this design a very contemporary feel. Whilst the fact that it’s hand blown will likely mean some randomness in the interior design between units, giving each individual piece a uniqueness.

Due to it’s design this piece would be a good talking point and could be sat proudly on the coffee table, instead of being put to the edge of the room as is common with most aquaria. The only downside I can however see to this design is that it would need very regular cleaning in order to keep to the designers original idea.

It is good to see designers minimising the amount of materials and taking already established ideas such as the fishbowl and giving it a modern, contemporary twist that brings it to a whole new level of design.
