The Melting Chair is a fun and original take on a seat. It is designed by Phillipp Aduatz.

The chair is designed to capture the transition of materials from solid to liquid or vice-versa. It creates the question in the users mind as to whether or not it will support them, hence becoming a talking piece.

It’s made of glass fibre reinforced polymer with a special silver coating then it’s coated with a scratch resistant polyurethane lacquer to help maintain the finish.

On his website Phillipp Aduatz has an excellent example of the design process that I would recommend checking out!
